Shiny, bouncy, glowing, swishy, sleek, glossy. These are all words I have heard about pregnancy hair.
I’m 7 months pregnant and I’m feeling great and some would say it agrees with me. It does. My hair and skin are beautiful during pregnancy. I have the extra hormones and increased blood flow to the skin’s surface to thank for that and another little secret….
However, you don’t have to be pregnant to get the same glossy, shiny, healthy hair. And if you are pregnant and not feeling like your hair is being kind to you, you can still achieve glossy hair.
I’m asked quite a bit if you can colour your hair during pregnancy. The answer is yes. However, it is a personal choice.
There are hair products on the market now, that have NO ammonia or PPD in them, which is kinder to your hair and the environment. I use Original & Mineral in my salon and now stock Liquid Clean Colour Technology.
The gel liquid formula is enriched with natural antioxidant Tasmanian Sea Kelp. O&M Liquid CCT™ Colours enhance natural colour, add tone depth, are colour balancing, grey blending and are perfect for colour correction work. They leave the hair incredibly glossy.
I chose to colour my hair during pregnancy and have had a few pregnant clients that have done the same. If you are unsure or not confident in colouring your hair during pregnancy, you can choose highlights which don’t come into contact with the scalp or choose just the clear gloss option (no colour added).
Whether you are pregnant or not – now you have the pregnancy hair secret. 🙂
Did you choose to colour your hair during pregnancy? I’d love to know.
